The St. James Butterfly Garden is a unique and inviting outdoor venue, nestled beside the Grand River. It offers opportunities to quietly sit a while and commune with nature, or meet with others in celebration. Along with the church proper, the Butterfly Garden is enjoyed by the people of St. James as a sacred place of worship and many other activities. It is enjoyed by those in the local community and the surrounding area, where meetings, birthday parties, weddings, funeral receptions, memorial services, christenings, showers, anniversaries etc. are held Contact us and see how we can help celebrate your event.

SIMPLICITY

The Butterfly Garden is a perfect setting for an outdoor wedding and/or reception. The garden is picturesquely located overlooking the Grand River in Fergus, Ontario. A wonderful variety of Butterfly attracting perennials provide continuous bloom and beauty throughout the summer and fall. Multiple scenic photo opportunities abound with the small cantilevered deck overlooking the heritage Grand River. Come for a visit to see the beautiful Garden for yourself.

Special Events

The Garden is fully equipped with everything needed to hold a wonderful reception. The spacious marquee tent can be enclosed with attached walls for protection from the weather. A heater is available for cooler days. Dishes, cutlery and wine glasses are available to serve 100 guests for a dinner at rectangular or round tables. There are chairs for 200 guests for a wedding only. There is ready access to the Church Hall, Church kitchen and washrooms. A state of the art sound system allows for background music and easily heard speeches. The Butterfly Garden is open for events from the last weekend of May until the last weekend of September.
